A neighbor’s sharp eye and quick action helped Prairie Village police apprehend three suspects on burglary charges this afternoon.

A neighbor living in the vicinity of the 3200 block of 77th Street called police around 1 p.m. Friday after witnessing three people force entry into a home near the intersection of Canterbury Road and begin loading items into a vehicle.

Police arrived on the scene quickly and the suspects ran away. Police were able to catch all three suspects after a foot chase. They were arrested and taken into custody.

Another neighbor in the area said that before breaking into the home, the men appeared to have been knocking on doors to see if they could find a home with no one there.

Investigators from the Prairie Village Police Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department were on the scene this afternoon collecting evidence.
