Village Shops, Shawnee Mission Health to ‘paint the town pink’ with October lighting ceremony

Shawnee Mission Health and The Village Shops announced Monday that they will bring the first “pink lighting ceremony” in the metro area to Prairie Village.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the buildings at the shops will outlined with pink lights starting Wednesday, Oct. 1. There will be a lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. that day, with breast cancer survivor Rita Hunt of Leawood getting the honors of flipping the switch. The pink lights will be lit each night at the shops throughout October.
