The Blue Moose Bar and Grill in Prairie Village closed earlier this week for a renovation that KC Hopps Ltd’s Chris Sutton said should be complete by Monday, Aug. 18.

The renovations will include new flooring and light fixtures throughout, a new color scheme, and a reconfigured back bar area. Crews have also installed a garage door between the back bar and the patio, which will be kept open when the weather is nice. Sutton said the restaurant will also be introducing a new menu and an updated audio-visual system around the time of reopening.

“This is the first renovation for the Blue Moose restaurants,” he said. “The progression will take us down the road to the other ones.”

Sutton said the impetus for the project was “12 years of great business.”

“Wanting to give back to loyal customers,” he said. “That’s why we decided to move forward. They deserve a refined space to enjoy.”

The Prairie Village Blue Moose enclosed its outdoor patio in 2013.
