For the second season in three years, SM East will have representation at perhaps the premiere arts camp in the world.

SM East incoming senior Abby Cramer will begin a three-week program at Interlochen Arts Camp this Saturday. A hub for budding performers whose alumni list includes Norah Jones, Josh Groban, Rufus Wainwright, and Prairie Village-raised pianist Eldar, Interlochen brings 3,000 artists from more than 40 countries together on its northern Michigan campus each year.

In 2012, SM East students Lily Kaufmann and Emma Reno attended the camp to study Musical Theatre and Flute, respectively. Cramer, who won a Blue Star Award for her role in The Drowsy Chaperone last year and was featured as The Dragon in Shrek!: The Musical this year, will be studying Musical Theatre this summer.

She is the daughter of Amy and Jim Cramer of Prairie Village.
