More evidence that Google Fiber is on the move in northeast Johnson County came Wednesday night when a location and license agreement for a fiber hut came before the Mission City Council. The hut will be located on city property along the east side of Barkley Street just south of Target and the Rock Creek Trail. The hut will be fenced and screened with landscaping. According to the staff report, the hut provides the equipment necessary to serve high-speed internet to about 20,000 homes. The huts link to the regional network that circles the metro.
