Art lovers couldn’t have asked for a nicer weekend to take in the paintings and sculptures at the third annual Art Event at Kansas City Christian.

Friday’s opening night party featured live music by the Fountain City Sax Quartet as well as an auction of small works. On Saturday, amazing weather attracted hundreds of patrons to view the works on sale from more than 30 local artists.

A portion of the proceeds from the event benefited the school as well as Hope Leadership Academy, a charter school serving disadvantaged students in Kansas City, Mo.
