Crews are in the process of finalizing renovations to the new Starbucks location at the Village Shops in anticipation of a Friday opening.

The previous Starbucks space next to Village Flower Company has been closed since Tuesday as employees prepare for the move to the new facility, which is located in the new building on the site of the demolished Waid’s Restaurant. Signage for the Starbucks drive thru has not received final approval from the city at this point, so it is unclear whether the drive thru will open Friday as well.

Starbucks will be fully vacating the space in the TCBY and Village Flower Company building by the end of May, meaning Einstein Bros Bagels will be able to start making renovations in July. Einstein has a lease signed to occupy both the former Starbucks space and the space vacated by Dolce Bakery before it moved to its current location at the Village Shops.

Funds from the Village Shops Community Improvement District went to pay for the construction of the new building in which Starbucks is located.
