The Shawnee Mission Medical Center is making a transition by changing the name of its network of facilities to Shawnee Mission Health.

Shawnee Mission Health logoThe hospital in Merriam will continue to be called Shawnee Mission Medical Center, but the outpatient location in Lenexa, which was Shawnee Mission Outpatient Pavilion, will be known as Shawnee Mission Health Prairie Star. The network will add Shawnee Mission Health Blue Valley, a third health care facility at 159th Street and 69 Highway.

“Our future is about more than being a hospital,” said Ken Bacon, President and CEO of SMH. “When the community hears Shawnee Mission Health, they should think of a network of health care facilities and providers working to exceed patients’ expectations by delivering quality care with compassion.”

Shawnee Mission Health will represent the complete network of care with nearly 700 physicians representing 50 medical specialities. Shawnee Mission Urgent Care also offers walk-in service seven days per week at 91st and Quivira.

The change comes with a new logo for the network which is incorporated into new signage.
