Roeland Park City Councilor Becky Fast has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2014 Human Development Policy and Advocacy Committee.
This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC federal policy positions on issues involving children, poverty and income support, employment and workforce development, seniors, individuals with disabilities, public health care, mental health parity and immigration reform. The appointment was announced by NLC President Chris Coleman, mayor of St. Paul, Minn.
Fast also serves as Chair of the public safety committee for Roeland Park and previous to her service on the city council, she served as Director of Constituent Services for former U.S. Congressman Dennis Moore. Council Member Fast earned a Masters in Public Administration and Social Work from the University of Kansas.
