SM North team places fifth in state academic decathlon competition at KSU

SM North’s Academic Decathlon team finished fifth at the Kansas state academic decathlon competition at Kansas State University recently.

Inidvidual honors were won by seniors Jenna Hager and Joe Wade and junior Forest Kinsey. Kinsey received the highest score in the competition for his essay. Other SM North students competing were Goldia Kiteck, Thao Dinh, Holly Clark, Thomas Johnson.

For SM East, Michelle Lu won bronze medals in social science, art and science. Other SM East participants were Kenton Parrett, Chloe Neighbor, Priscilla Acero, Yashi Wang and Juliana Gogol.

The SM South team was the state champion for the 14th consecutive year.
