The best tennis pro in the state is plying his trade in Prairie Village, according to the United States Professional Tennis Association.
Homestead Country Club tennis pro Kevin “KB” Braun has been named the 2013 Kansas State Tennis Professional of the Year by the USPTA.
Nominees for the award are evaluated each year based on their contributions to the Missouri Valley chapter of the USPTA and the United States Tennis Association. Additionally, they have to demonstrate strong teaching skills and be involved in community programs.
Braun isn’t the only Homestead pro to earn the honor. Fellow pro Kevin Kowalik was named Kansas Professional of the Year in 2010.
The two Homestead Kevins are skilled at the racket arts — both traditional and unconventional. Just last month they won the KC Open Platform Tennis Tournament.
