A single-car accident on 75th Street in Prairie Village between Roe Avenue and Nall Avenue is causing traffic disruptions.

The car was traveling eastbound on 75th Street when it crossed over the westbound lanes, left the road and crashed through the fence of a house near Rosewood. The car went through a second chain link fence and struck a tree in the backyard of a home that faces Juniper. The tree prevented it from running into the house itself. Emergency personnel have not released any information on the status of the driver, but early reports indicated that a medical event may have contributed to the crash.

As of noon, responders had one westbound lane of 75th Street closed as they worked to clear the scene. To get the car out of the backyard, police were preparing to close 75th Street off and were putting up barricades at Roe. Part of the fence was being removed to extricate the car.
