For the second time in as many years, the Village Shops’ Café Provence has made OpenTable’s “Top 100 Restaurants” list.

OpenTable selects the restaurants that make the list based on more than five million reviews from the site’s users for approximately 19,000 United States restaurants.

Café Provence was the only Kansas City-area eatery to make the cut, and the accolade puts the restaurant among some heady company. The list includes world-famous restaurants like The French Laundry in Yountville, Calif., and Daniel in New York, NY.

The Quillec family opened Café Provence at the Village Shops in 2001.  Last month the family opened a new retail store, French Market, just around the corner from the restaurant where patrons can pick up to-go versions of some of the restaurant’s favored dishes, as well as specialty French groceries, kitchenware and gifts.

Story, which sits across the street from Café Provence, made OpenTable’s “Best American Cuisine” list this year, as well.
