
Winter weather made a timely entrance Thursday ahead of the Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting at Corinth Square in Prairie Village, providing a wholly seasonal backdrop to the annual celebration.
A troupe of dancers from Dancerz unlimited performed to “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and “Deck the Rooftop,” before the Indian Hills Middle School Choir took the stage:
As attendees warmed themselves with hot chocolate, Santa — who arrive by limousine with a police escort — helped mayor Ron Shaffer pick a helper from the crowd to flip the switch on the tree lights. A young fella’ named Tucker got the call — and did a terrific job:
