Last year, four Pearl Harbor survivors were able to participate. But one of those, Jesse Dunnagan, died this year at age 92.

The other three, Jack Carson, 90, Dorwin Lamkin, 91, and Edmund Russell, 96, are expected to attend.

The public event will be held at Sylvester Powell Community Center in Mission. Quinn Appletoft, who has helped organize the event since he was in elementary school at Highlands, is now a senior at SM East and will be on hand again Saturday participating in the program.

The day begins at 11:15 a.m. with a reception and display of memorabilia and the program will begin at 11:55 a.m. Included in the program will be interviews with the three survivors and a question and answer period with the audience.
