This Small Business Saturday, help support locally owned NEJC stores

530954_507942075890387_1714173950_nGang, by now you likely have been reminded that today is Black Friday. It’s a date that for some unknowable reason propels many a poor soul to venture from the joys of wallowing the comfort of their newfound post-Thanksgiving corpulence to fight traffic and aggressive deal seekers at big-box retail outlets.

Well sir: We’ll politely say, “No, thank you” to that disaster.

Instead, we’d like to remind everyone that tomorrow is Small Business Saturday. And that one of the many joys of northeast Johnson County is myriad assortment of local, small, independently owned businesses committed to our community (many of which you can identify via their inclusion in this handy Business Directory! And if you happen to shop at any of these stores…heck, do us a solid and mention you saw them on the ol’ shawneemissionpost.com!)

When you shop locally, your money stays in the community. That’s a good thing. We try to keep that in mind as we do our holiday shopping each year — and we hope you’ll do the same.
