People, listen: There’s a football game on Saturday. In Topeka. And it is far and away the biggest, most important, most epic game in Shawnee Mission East — nay, in Prairie Village, history.
And we need to get those Lancers PUMPED before they battle for the 6A state title.
So here’s the deal: The Lancer Gridiron Club has organized a series of events to generate spirit commensurate with the occasion. You should attend. And you should yell things like, “GO LANCERS!” or “BEAT DERBY!”

THURSDAY- Thanksgiving Day:
The Lancers will hold practice from 9-11 a.m. at SM East. Parents, alumni and anyone else are encouraged to come and watch the practice and tailgate. Bring food and chairs and enjoy the morning watching your state-bound Lancers.
All-school bonfire and pep rally at 7 p.m. on the SM East practice baseball field. You can expect music, speeches and of course, FIRE!
There is an all-community send-off parade. Everyone is encouraged to come to Prairie Village to cheer for the buses as they leave for Topeka at 9:15 a.m. with a police escort. Help us line Mission Road with cheering fans from SM East to the Village Shops to say good luck and goodbye to our boys!
