You’ve heard this story before — but it doesn’t get old.

The Village Shops’ Story restaurant has for the second year in a row received OpenTable’s Diner’s Choice Award in the Best American Cuisine category. Just 100 restaurants received the distinction from among the more than 19,000 restaurants reviewed by OpenTable diners.

Story is the only restaurant in Kansas to have made the list, and one of just two in the Kansas City area. Westport’s Bluestem made the list this year as well, as it did in 2012.

The recognition puts Story among world-renowned company. Famous restaurants like Annisa in New York and the French Laundry in Yountsville, Calif., made the list, too.
