The focus of Live Blue, which is located in the renovated Toon Shop space, is to help residents learn healthy living habits, get active, and take control of their health care and wellness. The space has a multi-purpose room for seminars and trial fitness classes, a hospitality area for demonstrations on healthy eating and a calendar wall with details on Live Blue events and classes and sponsored runs and walks in the community.

Live Blue also offers Blue KC products and service, including personal assistance for anyone wanting to explore health insurance options, find out if they are eligible for a subsidy under the Affordable Care Act or get answers to policy questions.

Live Blue services are open to everyone, regardless of whether they are a Blue KC member or policyholder.

“Our real focus here is wellness for the community,” David Gentile, president and CEO of Blue KC, said at the grand opening of the center this morning. Classes kick off Wednesday morning. The calendar of classes and seminars can be found here.

The space will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Entrances are on the courtyard side and from the parking lot on the east side.
