Prairie Village resident Steven Wolf, whose wife Kay serves as northeast Johnson County’s state senator, is among the finalists for the Johnson County Community College board seat vacated by Melody Rayl who resigned in July.
The JCCC trustees reviewed 13 applications to fill the seat last week, and selected Wolf and three other applicants as finalists. The trustees will interview the candidates at a special meeting that tomorrow afternoon.
The other finalists are:
- Karin Brownlee, Olathe, independent contractor
- Robert Drummond, Olathe, president/CEO, Kids TLC
- Michael Lally, Overland Park, vice president, Olsson Associates
The trustees will announce their choice for the board seat after tomorrow’s meeting, with the new board member expected to be seated by the Oct. 17 meeting. The new board member will fill out the rest of Rayl’s term, which expires June 30, 2017.
Gerald Lee Cross, Jr., of Westwood, is currently the only member of the seven-member board who resides in northeast Johnson County.
UPDATED 10-2-2013: The trustees selected Robert Drummond to fill the vacancy on the board.
