Two new features this year were the addition of young artists to the art vendor lineup and a benefit draw that had artists produce an original work of art in one hour before a live audience. The artwork was then auctioned with the proceeds going to the Mission Convention and Visitors Bureau Adopt-a-Family program. The inaugural benefit raised $2,034.

Sylvester Powell Community Center was filled with artists inside and surrounded by barbecue contestants outside in addition to the live music playing Friday night. Truebud BBQ from Overland Park was the Grand Champion at the Battle of the Brisket.
