The attractions include music, food vendors, artists, craft vendors and lots of other activities. The “Battle of the Brisket” barbecue championship will be in the parking lot outside the center and inside will be a continuing display on the walls of artwork from local artists that is for sale.

The Arts & Eats music kicks in Friday at 6 p.m. with the band Four Fried Chickens and a Coke followed by Charlie & the Stingrays at 8:30 p.m. Food vendors will be set up along Beverly Avenue on the east side of the center starting at 4 p.m.

The benefit draw begins at 7 p.m. Artists entered in the event have one hour to produce an original piece of artwork while the crowd observes. Pieces then will be auctioned off at 8 p.m.

The barbecue contest starts at 5 p.m. Friday. The Rotary pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. kicks off the Saturday activities. A full schedule for Arts & Eats is available here.

On the walls of the community center, artwork by seven artists is on display now through October 1. All of the artwork is for sale. The exhibit is part of the “Evening with the Arts” event presented by the Mission Arts Council.
