Renovation Sensation, garage sale will benefit SM East SHARE program

Two fundraisers will benefit the SM East SHARE program this fall starting with the popular Renovation Sensation tour on September 18. The second is the SHARE garage sale at the high school on October 12.

SHARE is the student run community service organization at SM East. It is supported by community donations, fundraisers and grants.

The Renovation Sensation offers tours of four renovated homes in the East area. Each home can be toured between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The four homes on the tour this year are:
• 3708 W. 61st Terrace, Fairway – A Reinhardt Estates traditional two-story home with custom features and casual landscape.
• 2301 W 68th Street, Mission Hills – A newly built home with a marble kitchen, contemporary wine cellar and glass conservatory ceiling.
• 5001 W. 86th Street, Prairie Village – A colonial home in the Town & Country neighborhood built in the 1970s over two acres.
• 4411 W. 90th Street, Prairie Village – A Somerset Acres home with a spa room, sun room area and outdoor living space.

Tour tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the tour. Tickets for the patrons’ party to be held on September 17 are $75. Complete ticket information can be found here.

The garage sale will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations will be accepted in the parking lot off Mission Road on Saturdays, September 28 and October 5 from 9 a.m. to noon and Monday, October 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Clothes, household items, holiday decorations and books are needed. Not accepted for the sale are exercise equipment, stuffed toys, furniture or anything that plugs in. Questions about the sale can be directed to Pat Kaufman at patkaufman@smsd.org.
