Patrick and Joanne Quillec, proprietors of Café Provence, the oft-lauded Village Shops French bistro, announced this week that they will be opening a new specialty shop featuring French groceries and prepared foods this fall.

The store, to be called The French Market, will go in the space on Tomahawk Road most recently occupied by Tulip, the women’s boutique that consolidated operations to its Plaza location earlier this summer. In a message to Café Provence customers Monday, the Quillecs said the new store will feature “Café Provence’s House crafted food items such as vinaigrettes, Chef Daniel famous soups, stews, flavored butters, CP Coffee, French style cookies and much more as well as some fine selections of great artisan food from their country.”

The store is tentatively slate to open in “early November.”

Roxanne Elliott, the Village Shops leasing agent for LANE4 Property Group, said the company is currently working on leases for new businesses to occupy the currently vacant spaces that most recently housed Mady and Me and Create on Tomahawk Road. Elliott said she expects “the Tomahawk side to be full by 4th quarter.”
