Summer, as you may have heard, is coming to a close. And if you’ve been out in your garage recently and noticed a bike or two that hasn’t moved in months — despite the exceptionally pleasant weather — there’s a good chance that you don’t really need/want said bike or bikes.
But what to do with that perfectly functional, environmentally friendly mode of transportation that’s just taking up space?
We’ve got the answer!
FreeWheels for Kids, a Kansas City-area non-profit that uses bike safety and bike repair classes as a way to teach leadership skills and promote healthy lifestyles for area youth is collecting adult and children’s bikes this Saturday, Aug. 10. The collection will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Ranch Mart’s BikeSource, 3701 W. 95th Street.
