You can support your school and a good cause Friday when Shawnee Mission high schools compete to draw donors to a blood drive.
The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Friday at Sylvester Powell Community Center at Martway and Lamar in Mission. Head to rooms A and B to give blood. All of the Shawnee Mission schools are in the competition and student council members will be volunteering at the event.
Donors – age 17 and older – will be asked at the door which school they want to represent with their donation. Walk-ins are welcome, but donors are encouraged to sign up online. More information about medical eligibility and donating blood can be found here.
