Prairie Village Assistant City Administrator Dennis Enslinger has accepted a job as the Assistant City Manager of Gaithersburg, Md. He is expected to start the new job in late August.
Previously, Enslinger worked in city planning roles for Independence, Mo., and Lawrence, Kan.
As the staffer responsible for Prairie Village’s planning, zoning and code enforcement activities, among several other oversight duties, Enslinger has been a visible presence in the proceedings surrounding the proposed redevelopment of Mission Valley and in discussions of the city’s firearms ordinances.
With just over 60,000 residents, Gaithersburg is roughly three times the size of Prairie Village. Enslinger will be paid $125,000 in his new position.
“The City of Gaithersburg has a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life through community involvement,” said Enslinger in the city’s press release. “I’m extremely excited about being part of this long tradition and working with the community to achieve its future goals.”
