Last week we reported that earth was moving at the Mission Gateway site and an official groundbreaking had been scheduled. Now, the developer has reported that some new leases have been signed and that more are on the way.
Matt Valenti of the Cameron Group, the Syracuse, N.Y., developer of the project, said a Sprint retail store will be located in the development on the Johnson Drive side. It will take 3,000 square feet on the street level below a residential area. The development includes 300 apartments which will be built along both Johnson Drive and Roeland Drive.
Another lease has been signed for 2,200 square feet in the same area with Luxury Nail Spa, according to Valenti. He said more leasing announcements are expected in the coming weeks. Walmart is the main anchor with a 150,000 square foot store to be built on the northeast corner of the development.
Grading started last week and foundation work is expected to start later this fall. The groundbreaking is scheduled for 4 p.m. Aug. 12.
