Prairie Village police accepting applications for next Citizens Police Academy

Prairie_Village_Police_BadgeDid you love “Police Academy,” “Starsky and Hutch” and “Lethal Weapon”? Then perhaps you’d like to get a first-hand look at what police actually do — where you will almost certainly confirm that actual police work is precisely nothing like the Hollywood version!

The Prairie Village Police department is accepting applications for a new session of its “Citizens Police Academy.” During the 11-week program, participants will meet with police staff one day a week to learn about a different facet of the department and its operations. Sessions include lectures/presentations as well as field work.

The upcoming session starts Sept. 18.
