Painful as it may be for me to admit, but we’re heading into the homestretch of summer. Which means fall is just around the corner. Which means it’s probably time to start thinking about Prairie Village’s annual “State of the Arts” juried art exhibition.
The city last week put out a call for applications for the seventh annual installment of the show, which is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on October 11 at the R.G. Endres Gallery at PV City Hall. Instructions for applications and more information about the submissions process can be found at the city’s website.
Each year, the show jury selects winners for a handful of prizes. The winner of the top prize wins $1,000. Two additional winners earn Merit Awards worth $750, with six additional winners taking home $500 or $100.
The jury will consider two-dimensional or three-dimensional artwork of any medium. The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 9.
