Dozens of aspiring Michael Phelpses and Missy Franklins converge at the Carriage Club this morning for the Country Club Swim Association of Kansas City’s championships.
The rite of passage for swim team members started yesterday with the “Bud Merritt Championships” for the less competitive swimmers. The “A” championships start today with preliminary heats, and wrap up tomorrow with the finals.
Indian Hills Country Club has won the title the past two years, and is in second place in the team standings after the association’s dive championships earlier this week. Blue Hills Country Club leads the standings. Mission Hills Country Club is currently in sixth place, with Carriage Club in seventh and Kansas City Country Club in eighth.
Results from today and tomorrow’s heats will be posted on the CCSAKC website here.
