Contractors on Monday installed new signage outside the Prairie Village municipal complex at 77th Street and Mission Road as well as the Public Works building at Corinth Drive and Somerset Drive.
The Planning Commission and City Council approved plans to install the new monument signage last December. Public Works leaders proposed the project as a way to create visual consistency among city facilities and parks.
“Everything else had been updated,” said acting Public Works director Keith Bredehoeft. “These were the only two signs that hadn’t been updated.”
The project to build and install both monuments as well as provide electricity and lighting to the monument outside the municipal complex cost approximately $20,000.
