The new Mission transit center at 5251 Johnson Drive was dedicated this morning with a ceremony that honored former Westwood Hills Mayor E. Allen Roth, for whom the center is named.
Roth, who died in May, served as mayor for 14 years and was on the transit council for eight years. Roth’s son, Steve, and widow, Cindy, spoke at the ceremony which was attended by a crowd of mayors, city councilors, county commissioners, state representatives, city staff and Chamber members.
The transit center, between Johnson Drive and Martway is part of a larger transit project that includes multiple transit stations from Mission down to 119th Street and Metcalf.
