The summer construction season continues in downtown Mission where work started this week on Johnson Drive in preparation for the 2014 rebuild.
All of the work along Johnson Drive from now to the end of the year will be by utility companies getting ready for the main event next year when the street is rebuilt and new storm water, sidewalks, landscaping and street lights are part of the project.
Utility relocation work began Monday extending west from Nall. A contractor working on behalf of AT&T began relocating communication lines under the street. The construction means Johnson Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction in the work zone.
