Spirit of ‘Third Thursdays’ returns to Tomahawk with Rimann’s ‘Ladies Night Out’

For several summers, the Village Shops merchants along Tomahawk Road had come together to host “Third Thursdays” gatherings — bringing in a live music act and opening their doors to the neighborhood for drinks and appetizers.

But last summer, with a handful of the spaces along Tomahawk in flux, the merchants decided to put Third Thursdays on hiatus.

Tonight, Rimann Liquors is bringing the spirit of those Third Thursdays gatherings back to the Village Shops, if not the name.

Mary Rimann will be hosting a “Ladies Night Out” at their Village Shops store Thursday from 4:30-7:30 p.m., an event she says will “showcase local entrepreneurs and purveyors making high quality food, drink and accessories.” Tavern in the Village will be supplying appetizers. Standees will be providing dessert. And a half dozen vendors will be on hand displaying jewelry, crafts and accessories.

“Rimann Liquors was a big promoter of the Third Thursday events and still strongly feels it is important to have events for our customers as a “thank you” for their support and patronage,” Rimann said. “My goal is to actively help promote those stores along Tomahawk in a way that can be included because I feel strongly that the health of the shopping center rests in the ability of all the merchants doing well.”

And Rimann says Thursday’s event won’t be a one-off.

“We started featuring PV’s own Joel Crown in a series of events we loosely call Joel’s Cocktail Hour and we have a tentative one planned forJune 27th,” she said. “Joel has become quite an expert on this subject so we asked if we could have a series of these events and he graciously agreed. He also is quite a story teller.”
