Bark N’ Blues, the annual celebration of howlin’ good music and man’s best friend, returns to Prairie Village’s Franklin Park Saturday for the third year.

The big day starts with a 5K run at 7:30 a.m. followed by a 1-mile-walk-with-your-dog at 8:30 a.m. (To participate in either, email Melissa Anderson at barknblues@gmail.com).

And as the dog walk begins, the blues begin as well. This year’s musical acts are:

Junebug and The Porch Lights 10 a.m.

Josh Vowell Band noon

Samantha Fish 3 p.m.

Jeremy Butcher and the Bail Jumpers 5 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, though donations to support area animal rescue organizations are appreciated.
