The Prairie Village Planning Commission and the members of the public who spoke against the proposed Mission Chateau senior living community brought up dozens of issues at Tuesday night’s hearing.
But at the heart of the controversy surrounding the facility, which would replace Mission Valley Middle School, is its scope.
Four of the six Planning Commissioners who will vote on a recommendation for the project explicitly mentioned the project’s size as a concern Tuesday, and the Mission Valley Neighbors Association suggested that the project should be re-envisioned to more closely match the scope of the existing Mission Valley building, which is 100,453 square feet.
So what do you think: Is Mission Chateau too big for Prairie Village? (FYI…this poll will close at 6 p.m., eight hours after it opens at 10 a.m.)
