The MainStream Coalition’s legislative series wraps up this Thursday with its final program: Legislative Dust Settles: Where Are We Now? It anticipates the Kansas Legislature, still in session today, will have adjourned by Thursday night.
The program takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Colonial Church, 71st and Mission Road in Prairie Village – whether the Legislature adjourns or not. The speaker is Dr. Joseph Aistrup, professor of political science at Kansas State University and a frequent commentator on Kansas politics. Dr. Aistrup teaches courses in U.S. Government, state and local politics. In 2010 he and colleague Ed Flentie published “Kansas Politics and Government: The Clash of Political Cultures.”
The discussion will look at the effects of the budget and tax plan on individuals, public schools and higher education and an overview of other legislative highlights.
