SM East’s Women’s Swimming and Diving Team on Saturday captured its ninth Sunflower League title — and set a new school record in the process.

Led by strong performances that included wins by two freshman, SM East bested second place Free State by 52 team points. Freshman Mary Booton and Bonnie Longan both took first place in their events, as did seniors Sarah Freshnock and Meg Stanley. The school’s 400M freestyle relay team of freshman Sarah Allegri and seniors Tiernan Shank, Stanley and Freshnock won their race with a school record time of 3:37.16.
