The SM East PTA final meeting of the year next Tuesday apparently will serve as the last chance for parents to say goodbye to retiring principal Karl Krawitz.
The last meeting always includes the installation of the new executive board, which will take place as well. PTA leadership said Krawitz requested no going away party from the school, so the final PTA meeting will be the last chance for a farewell and they have included a Krawitz goodbye on the meeting notice.
Dr. Krawitz announced his retirement earlier this year after five years of leading SM East. He will be replaced by assistant principal John McKinney.
The meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. May 7 at Village Presbyterian Church.
The new PTA board taking office includes co-presidents Randy Davis and Lauri Bledsoe, VP of Administration (president-elect) Peg Wright, VP Programs Laura Redmond (second term) and Carrie Larson, VP Membership Robin McCullough (second term) and Mindy Householder, Recording Secretary Molly McClelland, Corresponding Secretary Paula Longan and Treasurer Jenny Bennschoter.
Officers stepping down after this year include President Kim Luger, VP Lori Stanziola, Treasurer Mary Shirling and Secretaries Cherron Oakley and Jenny Sernett.
