Prairie Village resident Tom Jones is among the three KU School of Engineering alumni to earn this year’s Distinguished Engineering Service Awards.
Jones graduated from KU in 1967 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He spent more than 20 years with Puritan-Bennett Corporation, a company specializing in medical gas delivery, particularly the home oxygen market. Jones’s contributions help enable a shift from high-cost in-hospital care to home care that was easier and less expensive for patients.
He became CEO of CHAD Therapeutics in 1998.
Jones has been on the School of Engineering’s Advisory Board since 1991.
