Westwood appoints replacement for councilor moving to PV

Westwood has a new city council member. Lisa Cummins will replace Jace McClasky for the one year remaining on his term.

Lisa Cummins

Cummins was nominated by Mayor John Ye and approved by the council. She was born and raised in Johnson County, is the mother of two grown children and two grandchildren. She has worked at Midwest Transplant Network in Westwood for 29 years where she is the Quality Improvement Specialist.

Cummins serves as a Westwood block captain, a member of the 47th Street and Mission Road Redevelopment Committee and a board member on the Westwood Foundation.

McClasky has served for three years. He told the mayor and council that he is moving to Prairie Village because he did not find a house immediately available in Westwood to accommodate a growing family.

The city also appointed two new members to the Westwood Foundation board. Robert Thompson and Sean O’Brien were both approved by the council.
