Earth Fair returns to SM East for 12th year on Saturday

If it’s mid-April in Prairie Village, you’d better believe we’re gonna be thinkin’ ’bout Mother Earth, ya’ll.

The Prairie Village Earth Fair returns to SM East this Saturday for its twelfth installment.

This year’s fair will again feature a show of environmentally friendly cars and a gym packed with displays from local farms, energy efficiency experts, and other green businesses.

And the kid-favorite animal displays — featuring birds of prey, lizards and snakes — will be back again as well. SM East students have organized a used book sale, too, and, of course, there will be lively live music.

The event is free an open to the public, but organizers encourage attendees to bring either a non-perishable food donation for the Village Presbyterian Food Pantry or a used bicycle or bike parts for the 816 bike collective.

The event runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
