Dineplex International’s Frank Rash announced last week that the company has hired Erik Hess to be the general manager of the first-ever STANDEES restaurant and theatre concept, which is scheduled to open at the Village Shops in Prairie Village in late May.
Hess has experience as a marketing executive for Sysco Corp., where he helped sell food products to restaurants. He was also the general manager of a number of restaurants owned by the local PB&J Restaurant group, which owns YaYas and the Newport Grill in Wichita, among others.
Among Hess’s duties will be the hiring of around 50 servers, bartenders, cooks hosts and theatre staff. The company estimates that STANDEES may employee as many as 75 full and part-time employees during its busiest seasons.
Hess graduated from Shawnee Mission West before attending college at K-State. He lives in Overland Park.
