Northeast Johnson County resident Lynn Mitchelson has been named Johnson Countian of the Year by the Johnson County Community College Foundation.
Mitchelson, of Mission Woods, is a banker who founded Corporate Woods State Bank in 1980. He also served on JCCC’s Board of Trustees from 1996-2011. In addition to his work at JCCC, Mitchelson has served as a director for the Johnson County Education Research Triangle Authority; as an adviser for the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation; as a director and chair of the Learning Exchange; and as chair of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, among many other community volunteer roles.
Prairie Village’s Audrey Langworthy received the honor in 2012. Mission Hills’ David Wysong was the honoree in 2011.
Mitchelson will receive his award at the JCCC Foundation’s annual Some Enchanted Evening gala this November.
