Prairie Village opens city hall to residents without power

With some residents having been without power for a full day, Prairie Village is opening up city hall as a temporary shelter through 5 p.m. From the city:

City Hall is open until 5 p.m. to residents who are still without electricity. Free Wi-Fi and coffee are available. City Hall is located at 7700 Mission Rd.

KCP&L is working 24/7 on restoration efforts. More than 600 KCP&L linemen, tree crews and contract crews were called in to assist with restoration efforts. In addition, linemen from Iowa and St. Louis arrived overnight and will assist with restoration efforts today. to read updates from KCP&L.

Nearly 800 66208 residents are still without power as of 10:30 a.m., according to KCP&L’s outage map.
