Wentz’s last-seconds shot seals Lancers’ 1-point victory over SM West

How ’bout those Lancers?

Vance Wentz proved Friday he is most definitely not suffering from a case of senioritis on the basketball court, nailing a final-seconds jumper from 15 feet to give SM East a one-point edge over SM West. The Lancers’ Zach Schneider intercepted an inbounds pass from the Vikings on the ensuing play, sealing their victory with 3.1 seconds left.

The Lancers won 38-37. After the game, Wentz called the shot the “biggest of his career.”

The victory takes SM East to 8-0 on the season, putting them atop the Sunflower League.

Schneider led the Lancers in scoring Friday with 18 points.
