Trailwood Elementary mom Alexis Burdick sent us this note about the school’s upcoming Holiday Boutique this weekend:
Trailwood Elementary located on 95th street between Nall and Roe will hold it’s 6th annual Holiday Boutique this weekend. Friday times are from 2 to 6 pm and Saturday shopping hours are from 9 am to 1 pm.
As statewide school budgets continue to get squeezed area PTA groups have begun building fundraisers to close the gap. Traiwood, recently celebrating their 50th anniversary, has made this year a standout from years past. Beginning the year with a celebratory carnival with over 400 attendees, and now leading into the holiday season with a Holiday Boutique that has more than doubled past vendor numbers, this year’s PTA is hoping to continue to build the extracurricular, field trip, traveling exhibit, and teacher grant funding programs.
This year’s event includes over 45 craft, artisan and merchandisers, cool Friday ice cream treats from Sonic, warm Saturday Starbucks coffee, $25 family holiday photos Saturday, a free visit with Santa on Saturday between 10 and 12 pm, and 50 donated (non)Raffle items for shoppers to win.
“The Boutique is going to be fabulous,” says this year’s PTA president Molly Gray.
As holiday shoppers become more conscientious consumers, paying closer attention to ‘Made in the USA’ labels and ‘Buy Local’ campaigns, the gift giving spirit has become more meaningful. This weekend’s Holiday Boutique at Trailwood has more than 45 local small businesses whimsically showing their ware giving shoppers beautifully unique gift options for this holiday season.
This ‘Buy Local’ shopping event is sure to be full of cheer and whimsy wrapped up in a boutique shopping experience. To learn more visit the event’s Facebook page at or the event’s blog.
