SM East theatre bringing worst movie ever made to life on stage

Connor Woodson, as Eros, Maddie Roberts as Tanna, and Alex Ritchie as The Ruler.

The worst movie in the history of moviedom will come to life at SM East starting this Thursday.

The Theatre Department’s fall play is a stage adaptation of director Ed Wood’s infamous 1959 sci-fi howler, Plan Nine from Outer Space — widely regarded as one of the worst films ever produced. Stagings will take place at SM East 7 p.m. from Nov. 8-10. Tickets are $7 for the general public.

The play tells the story of a group of aliens who reanimate the dead in a plot to take over the world. Creative stuff. Approximately 50 SM East students are involved in the production, on stage and off.

Bridgette Beasley as the psychic Criswell.
