Hospital offering free flu vaccines from the comfort of your car

NEJCers: Flu season is right around the corner.

And The University of Kansas Hospital is hosting a convenient event to get you and your family vaccinated.

The hospital’s 18th annual free, drive-thru flu shot event will be from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. (while supplies last), Saturday, Oct. 20, at Rainbow Boulevard and Adams Street in Kansas City, Kan.

Persons 8 years and older are eligible for the vaccination; parental consent is needed for children ages 8 to 17. Shots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

Although the flu shots are free, the hospital will accept donations and nonperishable food items for Harvesters, the Community Food Network.

Each person receiving a flu shot needs to complete and sign a consent form, available at the event or online. For more information about the flu shot event, call 913-588-1227 or click here.
